Oversaw the station’s daily news update, which involved writing news scripts, recording and editing the audio to upload to Soundcloud. This job gave me experience working at a radio station as well as the broadcast side of journalism.

o   Wrote, recorded, produced and edited a four-episode podcast as part of the station’s content.

iBiola Reporter | September 2018 – December 2018

Assisted Biola’s Public Relations team by writing engaging stories about the university’s students, faculty and alumni. This internship gave me P.R. experience and taught me how to professionally represent an institution.

o   Wrote press releases and feature stories about people and events associated with Biola.

o   Edited articles and press releases for AP Style, grammar and sentence structure.

o   Worked closely with the university’s P.R. team to brainstorm marketing strategies.

 

The Daily Press, Victorville

Summer Intern | June 2018 – August 2018

I pursued different stories every day, which involved contacting people for information and interviews as well as chasing down leads for each story. This internship placed me side by side with a number of outstanding, professional journalists who taught me how to be a better reporter.  

o   Contacted citizens and government employees for information and interviews.

o   Wrote several front-page stories for the daily newspaper.  

o   Worked closely with professional journalists on feature stories, public safety press releases and photography projects.

The Chimes, Biola University

Arts and Entertainment Editor | May 2017 – May 2018

Actively pursued creative and captivating arts and entertainment stories on campus, which taught me how to find the best angle in my stories and write them in a powerful, engaging way that informed Biola’s student body of events taking place on campus.

o   Scheduled and conducted interviews with students, faculty and sources in the area.

§ Filmed and edited weekly recap videos and learned how to operate a camera and lighting and recording equipment, which helped me serve the campers by giving them a powerful reminder of the week they spent at camp.

o   Learned how to edit with Adobe Premiere Pro.
